New record in building a skyscraper
A Chinese construction company has built an entire 57-storey building in just 19 days in Changsha.
The building called Mini Sky City, is 200 metres high. The total construction area is 180,000 square metres and contains space for 4,000 office workers, 800 residential apartments and 3.6km of pedestrian streets.
You might wonder, how did they do it?
Well first of all, 95% of the building parts were pre-made in a factory, then on site 1200 workers assembled the parts like stacking Lego.
With traditional construction methods, the building would have taken two years to complete.
The assembled building is also easy to dismantle, like a Lego building and 90% of the dismantled pieces could be recycled in the factory and reused.
